This is a very interesting and useful Tokina AT-X PRO 28-80 mm full frame zoom lens. It can maintain a constant 2.8 throughout the zoom range. This is the Nikon mount version.
It is especially useful for digital cinema and digital workflows. It is internal focus and internal zoom. That means nothing moves on the outside of the lens. The front does not rotate. The lens will never change length. This makes it an excellent solution for filters, matte boxes and etc.
We used ours exclusively on the front of cameras like a Sony F3, F5 or F55 with a Nikon adapter. So I cannot speak to any of its autofocus or auto aperture functionality. We preferred manual control. You may want to check compatibility for automatic features on lower end DSLRs.
There is no doubt the Tokina AT-X Pro 28-80mm is well built lens. It is tough, rugged and substantial. It is a metal pro lens. No plastic.
The lens does have a personality. Most love it. Especially if filming people. Fantastic for portraits and interviews. It can get a little soft wide open but I thought that did nice things to blown out highlights.
28-80 is a great range. Really a good go to lens. This one is in great shape and low use. Comes with lens shade, front and rear cap, and a soft pouch.
There are quite a few positive reviews for this lens online.
