Tokina's wide angle zoom (11 - 16 f2.8) is well regarded but one seems to hear little about the mid-range zoom, 16mm - 50mm. Does anybody have an opinion on this lens?

Isn't it discontinued?

From what I remember, the reviews were OK - but nowhere near as positive as the 11-16mm.
