GH3 Tokina 12-24 F4 Nikon mount not working on GH3

I am trying to use a Tokina 12-24 F4 (IF) DX with a Rainbow Imaging adapter Nik-M43 with my GH3. The image is very dark! I have already checked on a Nikon body that the lens is at F4. All my other Nikon lenses work with the adapter and GH3. Any ideas?
 
Look through the back of the lens on that adapter - are the aperture blades closed or is the iris open?
