GH4 Tokina 11-16mm or comparable for wide angle on GH3, GH4, AF100 still a good option?

Hi All,

Is the Tokina 11-16mm Nikon mount still the best wide angle lens to use with the GH4, GH3, and/or AF100? I have a Panasonic 12-35mm but want something that I can put a lens gear on for follow focus and narrative filmmaking.

Are there other wide lenses that are comparable or better for narrative work?

Also, there is a DX II version and I understand that it has better coatings to reduce lens flare. Will this work as well with an adapter (i.e. Metabones Speedbooster)?

Thanks for your input.

I have the Tokina 11-16mm (just the DX version) which I use with the Metabones Speedbooster Nikon-to-MFT and it's a great wide angle for landscapes. I wouldn't use it for narrative work though because if it's extreme wide angle. I think with the SB (0.71x) and the GH4 crop factor in UHD mode (2.4x) the Tokina amounts to a 19-27mm.

For narrative work I would want a wide-to-normal zoom. I have the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 and with the Speedbooster on my GH4 in UHD mode it amounts to a 30-60mm very fast lens. I'd recommend that for narrative work.
