Any experiences with the Tokiuna 11-16 2,8 Nikon and Novoflex adapter Nikon to MFT and the aperture control? Does it work?

Greets, Arno

Also check out Adaptimax, its more pricey but has a thumbscrew which gives much more precision in aperture adjustment, and they're available. I have it and its very solid. Just used it for a shoot using a nikon 17-35mm...was great!

HI Arno, we have the Canon EF to Micro 4/3 in stock for same day dispatch. At this moment you will need a Canon EOS to change aperture but it works perfectly.

The Adaptimax Plus Nikon to Micro 4/3 has proved to be extremely popular and they go out to customers as fast as we can manufacture them. We are only a very small business but pride ourselves in being the best at what we do. Our adaptors are made to the highest specifications, hand finished and guarenteed for 12 months no quibble.

Best regards

I have the Tokina on my AF100. Is it normal that if I"m not at like 15-16mm I can't focus on anything closer than a few feet to 1 ft? At 11mm...I can't focus on anything under 6+ FT. Basically useless indoors.

Is that normal?

That is not normal in any lens design and function. You need a lens technician to take a look.

I've been curious about this lens. But the whole "false iris" thing really concerns me. I wouldn't want to trust a lens that didn't have its own built in iris control.

Then get the Duclos rebuild of the Tokina: cine-direction focusing, robust and completely rehoused, proper markings, fully geared, PL mount, and full manual iris ring.

I have the Tok 11-16 and 16-50 w/ Novoflex adapt. Very nice set up. Use it it run and gun quite a bit.
The 11-16 is a bit soft on the wide-side though.

That's what I'm wondering (post above). I realized that my current adapter with aperture control was giving me soft focus on anything the 11-16 gave me unless the subject was like 30ft+ away. I placed the lens on my other adapter (without aperture control) and went outside and things focused perfectly. Basically, the issue is this adapter I have. There's no other reason for this to be happening because the lens is in good working order.

You all are saying the Novoflex is a great adapter so can you confirm that on the AF100 it controls aperture AND things are in focus properly? I want to be sure because this will be the third adapter I've purchased trying to find one that works.

My Novoflex adapter with the 11-16 on my AF100 gives me perfect focus, near and far.

*My Novoflex adapter is up for sale in the Marketplace. Selling all of my AF100 gear.

I have the Adaptimax with the Tokina 11-16, I love the Tokina, one of the best ultrawides around, IMHO. The Adaptimax, I have not been that happy with, and have had some issues with (namely some slight rotational play affecting exposure on G lenses such as the Tokina, a light leak that causes flare, amoungst other things), and unfortunately, I have not been able to return through the no quibble guarantee to either B&H or Adaptimax.

If your adapter has screws, then they need to be tightened as they get loose during normal wear and tear.

OK something else I thought of today. The novoflex has an aperture ring built into it...but doesn't let you control the ring of the Tokina itself. My Tokina is closed by default...not open...so why would having the aperture ring on the Novoflex even help me?

How are you others using this adapter? I don't get it...

The Nikon version should work with the Novoflex aperture ring. On my Nikon mount lenses I have to close the iris to its smallest aperture then mount it to the Novoflex. If it's wide open then the adapters iris control wont work.
