To squeeze or not to..

Hey guys. Ok, I'm about to start production on a short & I'm really interested in shooting it in 'squeeze' mode. Here's the question, once & for all, lol. As I understand it (Which isn't much) is, if I shoot in squeeze, on a true wide screen television, it fills the screen sans black bars? But, if the television isn't a true wide screen, the black bars are automatically added by the dvd player? At any time will my picture look distorted and if so, why? Thanks...

If you author the DVD correctly (so that it is flagged as 16x9), then it will look correct on all TVs when played on a DVD player.

You got it, if you go: SQUEEZE -> 16:9 timeline -> 16:9 DVD... you will never have any issues. Only time you would have a problem is if you played back from the DVX hooked up directly to a 4:3 TV... but who does that?
