To feature. Or not to feature

Please remember that this is a NON-COMMERCIAL Feature...
It could not be considered for an Oscar even if it were the best film ever made
(since it won't run commercially in LA, or anywhere else)

Motivatons For Making This Film
(In Order Of Importance)

#1
It will be a calling card first and foremost...

#2
Secondly, it will be used to screen for potential investors FOR FUTURE PROJECTS...

#3
on the third rung of the importance latter, it will be screened by Stephen King with the possibility of being renegotiated (if it is THAT good)...were this the case (crosses fingers), it would be most viable as an hour long television project (and rumors have been flying about a second "Nightmares and Dreamscapes"-like King Anthology. I understand that this very well may be a long shot, but that is the only possible commerciality this project will ever see...

#4
The least of our motivations would be its doing well at festivals. Don't get me wrong, that would be incredible, but it STILL WOULDN'T MAKE IT COMMERCIAL. Usually, the goal of winning a festival is two-fold: to slap the accolade on the marketing promotion & to network. (In this case, the prior isn't an option and the latter may not be necessary)

If you can make a good feature with what you have on hand I'd do it. It's based on a Stephen King book for goodness sakes.

i can't imagine a 70-page story would make a 60-page script. like i said, i haven't read the story, but when you figure how novels (~300 pages) are made into features (which would be a 280-minute film). Like i said, i haven't read the story, but i gotta believe it can compress, concentrate, into 30 minutes. i'm tempted, actually, to get the book (i'm a king fan anyway) and read the story just to get a grip on this.

also, if you want an outside, objective take on the script, PM me and i'd be more than happy to read it and maybe give some more specific comments.
