To Catch A Predator: Full Sail

Anyone else see the episode the other night with the bust of the instructor that taught at full sail...really no point to this post other than another reason I dislike Full Sail.

...also I enjoy how even when the predator people know who he is, and what the show is, he has to announce, "I'm Chris Hansen, and this is NBC Dateline's series called to catch a predator." haha.

i imagine his full sail went to a half sail pretty quick after seeing chris hansen.

Question that's been on my mind.

Does Predator offer pedophiles a get out of jail free card? Or some form of clemency? Because I would NEVER sign a release form for that TV show. I would rot in prison & die before I let them show my face.

And yet none of the faces are blurred when I watch.

It's a private residence that they have full permission to be & shoot at. And the streets are open to the public.

If anyone happens to be there, they have every right (Freedom of the press) to take their picture and publish it - especially as part of a "news/documentation/current affairs" program.

Just as if you walk into my house, I can publish my security camera footage if I want. You were in my house.

good question.. maybe they can bend the rule under the same conditon that they don't have to get a release waiver from the survailance camera tape when someone breaking into a store when they are placing it on the news. it is still a tape of a crime being committed... but i have no real clue. hopefully they don't get a get out of jail free card...

I like the idea of the show, but its waaaay over excessive. Like, when the "predator" tries to casually leave the property and like 5 cops jump out of the bushes and slam the dude on the ground? Talk about trying to force drama.

drama sells... havent u learned that.... heh.

the sad part is that the show can go on forever as there is no shortage of wacky men who are lonley and or not to sane. I dont belive that this show is helping to rid off these type of predators, its probably good for raitings but thats it.

What is it specifically you don't like about FS? Did you go there?

i think the show is sad, but so are the people who keep getting caught. Seriously, don't mess around with kids under the age.

Full Sail sounds a lot like ex'pressions new media out here in emeryville, it's not that it's a bad school, it's just a tech school that wants your money. It's up to you to really do something with it, but IMO, unless you've got a specific trade you're studying for, you should go to a regular college so your degree is at least worth something.

This is a little off topic. We're getting ready to shoot a low budget indie in Michigan that relates to a true story. Any how, I've got footage of Chris Hanson reporting on the story 20 years ago. We're using him in the trailer. :)

I didn't go there, but came very close, went to orlando, took a tour. I guess I lose alot of respect when it's still a corporation. If money wasn't first on there minds, they could be a more legitimate school. They cost too much, and you come out with contacts of other people that need work too. I just don't see much of an industry down in orlando.

The other part, now is... I wanted to go to full sail because I wanted to start working right away, but by taking the 4-year college route, I have learned way more than I did in high school, and from what I've learned it's changed my view points on alot of things, and developed how I write, and visualize my ideas. also within these (year 3 of 4) for years, I have been able to build enough contacts to have pretty steady work once I graduate.
(and no, I'm not a crazy liberal college kid now...but somethings have changed for the left and right)

You where in my house, survailance, raitings, trailor….

The real crime is the spelling & grammer in this thread!

Ex'Pressions was started by a Full Sail founder that left and went to the west coast. As you mentioned, it IS up to you to do something with what you've learned. No one is going to baby you through school and the industry.

unless you've got a specific trade you're studying for, you should go to a regular college so your degree is at least worth something.

I went there (twice) and i'm doing just fine (great). Its all about being good at something, and making your own path. Don't rely on others to make something happen for you.

I think the true beauty lies in our complete butchery of the English language...but thanks!
