Barry, Do you think that Panasonic will release a Remote App for the DVX-200 that is Android soon?

Also, It would be very cool if you could control the Area Focus, so you could do a Rack-Focus on your smart phone with out touching the camera. Do to the technology of the touch screen, that is not like today's smart phones, it's pretty hard to do a rack-focus in the macro mode, or at the end of the zoom range, with out moving the camera by pressing the screen. If you could check with Panasonic and post what you might find would be cool.

Thanks in advance!

That would be a cool feature if it doesn't already exist. Are you awre of the Focus Transition and Focus Transition Wait options? It takes a little time to set up the transition but works pretty well. The Transition Wait setting will delay the transition from starting to help prevent camera shake from touching the display. Hope that helps in the meantime.

I have heard nothing, but here's the problem -- generally, if I did know, I wouldn't be allowed to tell you, so -- while I can pass along the request, I really can't say whether they will or won't do it. There are rare occasions when they lift the embargo on being able to say what's coming, but -- generally, that's pretty rare.

Yes, I know of the focus transition feature, but, the problem with that is you have to set up the shot, each time. Not what i would call a Run-n-Gun feature. That's why I like the Focus Area, much quicker, and on the fly selection. Come on Panasonic make it happen! There are a lot of us Android Users !

Barry, A couple of questions. First, for some reason (maybe my stupidity) I cannot select a "single" clip for playback. If keeps going from one clip to the next. I try and 'select" it with the job but that merely starts playing the clip. Second, I saw on one of your tutorials there were 18 custom scene files you have for downloading on the Panasonic website. I cannot find them. Can you help us with a direct link? Thanks.

I don't believe you can have it play just one clip and stop. There is an option to have it repeat the same file in a loop playback though if that helps you (From Barry's book):

In playback mode, press the MENU button to bring up the thumbnail menu
display.

The VIDEO SETUP menu lets you configure how the clips will play.

Normally when the system plays back a clip, it’ll finish playing the current
clip and then continue by playing the next clip, until it’s played all the clips
on the card (or all the clips in the folder, depending on whether you’ve
chosen to display ALL thumbnails or only the ones in a particular folder),
and then it’ll stop playing. You can instead have it perpetually play the
same sequence of clips over and over until you manually stop the playback.
An example of why you might want to use Repeat Play would be if you were
using the camera to play a looping demo reel, perhaps at a trade show booth
or in a business.

I think it would benefit the company
if more people could use widely remote function
(This is a very necessary thing)
This is not the pursuit
i'am waiting

Hi Barry, I must be dense, but the link to the 18 scene files I clicked on above brings me to a page for scene file downloads and asks me to select a camera and the DVX 200 is not listed there. Plse advise.
