To air on Fuse and MTV 2

Hey I'm just looking to get some feedback on a music video I just recently did. It's for a band called The Big Screen whom are signed to Undecided Records. The record label only payed me $80 because they wanted to save money so they could get it aired so that was my only budget. It starts airing Sept 15 on Fuse I havent got a MTV2 air date yet. Thanks in advance.

Great Job! And it's funny that I saw Chris in your video. I once worked with him in a 35mm film called Dirty Deeds. Great to see him.
 
Fuse and MTV2 are gonna air this? Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting your work down or anything. I'm just kinda...eh, cause I've seen some REALLY good work get turned down by these stations. Congrats though.:beer:
 
aerosolcheese - $80!?!?!?! You can't even rent a DVX for that. Did you edit???
yea i did edit, I own the camera and final cut pro and a G5 so I did everything myself

Thats awesome I've been friends with him for awhile hes been in two of my videos, yea I've seen dirty deeds.

yea i've seen some great stuff, like i said thats why they only gave me $80 because the record label spent all their money that they had intended on paying me on getting it aired. so I'm pretty psyched. I could've done better but $80 doesnt get you very far.

What did they tell you they spent to get it aired? Fuse and MTV don't charge .. they just require that the video be on Beta SP (or DigiBeta) and also be Closed Captioned ... which costs about $250 or so, depending.

It's probably the music too that got it on. They have that emo-y whine sound. They're good at what they do though heh.

Some nice shots in there, good overall contrast, exciting.
 
Ok, I did not get a chance to view yet ebcause I have to run but I am going to have to say what others have said... it does not cost to get on FUSE or MTV2, other then those transfer and captioning costs. Thats what, $500 tops? If the label can't swing that.. man, then they really don't need the exposure those chanells offer.

Don't get me wrong, that exposure is alot more valuable to you, and anyone who does music videos can relae to doing them for next to nothing to build a reel, but when a label does that it screams "low balling" Heck the big studio I work with will do video for next to nothing (alot less then what they would charge to rent the gear) but NOT for a label we know can afford more. Trouble is the label comes to expect to pay that, and your time and effort is worth more.

Again just starting out this is probablly very good for you and congrats really! Just food for though in the future. I hope to watch the vid soon.
