Tired of scrounging for disk space? Hotswap SATA system

Read carefully and consider if you need lots of editing space or backup space (who doesn't?)

While this is not as simple as an external drive, you get A LOT more expandability. And - this is such a bargain. I'd like to see this get used again rather sit in the landfill because nobody took the time to see how useful it could be for them. I've scanned and posted the manuals at the bottom for your review -- but you don't need to do any assembling. You just need to get the hostcard for your desktop.

Massive, expandable storage space, consider these items, separately or as a turnkey unit. I have (9) 300 GB Seagate/Maxtor drives of storage to sell very cheaply that work with this system. I used it with a mac desktop.

This is a very versatile system that offers great PERFORMANCE with UNLIMITED CAPACITY.

SATA, type A connector.

You can use the trays to "hotswap" your drives and store them. You can store the drives in the IcyDock trays, too. I have (3) empty trays just for storage.

I'll sell everything for $100, you'll pay shipping.

- hotswap enclosures - four-bay unit
- IcyDock external trays, (12) total
- 300 GB SATA hard drives (9), all top quality drives - used about 1.5 years, but mostly for storage, only Maxtor and Seagate.

You just need to buy the hostcard that will work for your desktop. The enclosure is pre-built, which is a big plus.

This is where I bought part of the system and it is the same item.

How do these show up to the computer? As 4 separate drives? Can you RAID them together? Also, any thoughts on how/if it works with a PC?

Yes, they show up as 4 separate drives. I'm sure you could RAID them together. I don't know why it wouldn't work on a PC.

Anybody?

Separately, I have 9 or so 300 GB SATA discs, very lightly used. The enclosure itself..

anyhow, e waste is depressing.

This $100 for everything deal is still available.

I'd prefer a local - pickup if possible.

Otherwise, we found out that shipping will be about $130
