Tips on saving the battery

What size batteries are you using? Without knowing that answer why not gran a couple of DVX user batteries from this site.... cheap and solve your problem.

You mean you're running out while filming, or your coming back the next day and the battery is dead?

For the first: close the LCD when not actually using it. (Or don't use it at all, if your one of those people who can look into the teeny tiny eyepiece and see anything worthwhile. I'm not one of them.)

For the second: remove the battery when you're not using the camera. Don't know why, but it seems to use the battery even when not turned on. (I thought it was just AC power that charged the internal battery, but maybe not.)

If none of the above apply...you might just need bigger batteies. :)

ive never experience the problem of juice loss from having it hooked up.

not saying you (the O.P.), but most people don't realize how much energy is sucked up when you have the LCD open.

quick guerilla solution...small car battery, power inverter, and use the adapter. might need to muffle the sound of the inverter, but you'll have power to last you for a few days worth of shooting. then charge the car battery over night or whenever you need to.

that's how i shoot in the great outdoors. :)

note though i do use the actual battery for handheld stuff, but setting up a tripod or whatever then it's the car battery.

I do. A 5400 mAH battery goes flat dead for me in a fairly short period. Sitting on the shelf, the battery stays fresh a longass time.

FYI - if you run a car battery to dead.. it usually cannot be revived more than once.. how ever if you buy a optima yellow top battery it can go dead many many times and be recharged again.

My batteries are original and only last 21-22 min.. I have to order the 5600 mother from this website.. :-)

Does anyone make a bigger battery on a belt for this camera? (like the double size of a wallet)
