Hi all,
I don't think the P2 Drive is very common (it's too darn expensive) but I've got two tips about it I thought I'd pass on:
1. On the Macintosh, in order for the card(s) to be recognized by the OS, they have to be write-protected. I get some odd errors when I put an unlocked card into the drive: it appears to attempt to mount it on the desktop but fails and gives an error about ejecting devices correctly. If the card is write-protected everything works well. Now I'm just waiting on P2 Genie to get updated so I can combine P2 cards!
2. On the PC, I've not been able to get the P2 Drive to work correctly. I have to boot the computer with P2 cards in the reader's slots in order for the cards to be regonized by the OS. I can also unplug the P2 Drive, put the cards in, then plug the Drive back in. Panasonic tech support hasn't been able to tell me why. I've tried it on a couple of computers with no success. Fortunately, I'm mostly a Mac guy.
Regards,
fh
