Hey everyone,
I thought this might help some of us! From Happyholm:
Our personal productivity in every day determines how much we do. When productivity is high, we take action towards our goals and manifest our visions. We feel full of life and energy during the whole day, and at night we go to sleep satisfied!
Productivity is not a matter of a condition, luck, gift or “a good day”. High productivity is — thankfully — only a result of knowing how to feed it! You can definitely have a good productivity going on for a lifetime if you do it right, and through short and easy-to-apply tips, this article will gladly show you how.
Thanks to a great book by Robert Maurer called One Small Step Can Change Your Life: The Kaizen Way, I realized that most people who want to do changes often take big tasks (e.g. “from now on, no more…”) and wonder why they cannot keep up to them. It is therefore absolutely recommended that you make the following changes easily, with time. Make the changes very small and manageable, to the point that they even seem ridiculous, as if they would make no change.
Love,

- Write a To-do List at night for the following day. This way, when you wake up in the morning, you already have clear tracks to follow and start the day focused.
- In that daily list, include even very simple and banal tasks, like brushing your teeth or eating lunch. The pleasure of checking those tasks will motivate you to continue with the other tasks!
- In the same list, also include a daily break. In that daily break, do the things that truly make you happy, like spending quality time with the spouse and/or children, dancing, enjoying your favorite hobby, etc.
- Consider including a light workout in your daily To-do List! A physical activity, even a tiny one (such as a set or two of crunches and push-ups, for instance), brings more energy to your body and releases adrenaline, both will make you fired up about our following the other tasks. When feeling the muscles burning, keep going, and use these moments to prove to yourself how mentally strong you are.
- Work FAST. As you read a task in your To-do List, start doing it right away, without any preliminary thinking. “Keeping it for later” as your brain may suggest at first is not the way.
- Spot the things that may slow you down at checking your tasks. These things are usually referred to as “chores”. Limit them, and agree to share them with others (e.g. spouse, children, colleagues, etc). This will leave you more time for the things that truly matter.
- A tired brain isn’t productive, it is therefore recommended that you sleep at least 7 hours at night. Guarantee a quality sleep by eliminating unnecessary noises (e.g. computer fans, ticking clocks, etc) and using a pillow that is comfortable to you.
- Make your working area as comfortable and welcoming as currently possible. Focus at ergonomics, comfort, lighting and personal touches when possible. The more you like to spend time in your working area, the more productive you are.
- Make use of the magic of music! while following your tasks, play the music that makes you happy.
- Still at music, I also highly, highly recommend adding Kelly Howell’s High Focus
to your working-time playlist. I find it extremely useful at keeping myself concentrated and efficient at work-time. I have no doubt that this clinically-proven audio CD will greatly boost your efficiency as well!
- Eat well. Food is energy, and energy is productivity. I won’t ask you to eat six different vegetables every day, but just make sure you eat regular meals that contain both carbohydrates and protein, both are great for your body and brain, hence, for your productivity.
- Look for productivity! (remember? you find what you look for!)
- Be flexible! Yes, when you are flexible and easy about your daily tasks, they become more welcoming! If you feel bad for not completing all of yesterday’s tasks, that won’t make it easier to complete them today! be flexible and take it cool, as long as you follow yesterday’s tip #5 and work FAST.
- Create a Goal Reminder Board at the 1st of every month. On this large board, which I recommend to hang on the wall in the room where you spend most of your time, write your goals so you always remember them. I noticed that most people do not achieve what will make them happy in life because they simply do not keep it in the front of their minds. Knowing your goals and being constantly reminded of them is a huge motivational force aiding you to achieve your goals to ultimate happiness.
- In the default folder in which you store images on your computer, create a folder called “The life I am dedicated to living”, and fill it with images that represent your desired life. Some ideas include (but are not limited to): your dream house(s), your dream cars, places you’d like to see in the world, clothes you’d like to have, appliances and “toys” you’d like to have, etc. Also include photos that represent your past achievements! Use the free and brilliant Google Photos Screensaver to beautifully screen those photos to you after about a minute or two of no computer activity.
