tips for fisheye lens shooting?

i have access to a fisheye lens adapter for the DVX from the company i intern at. i basically have free reign over it because they don't really use DVX's anymore, i just don't know what situations would call for such a lens. the only times i've ever noticed such a lens being used is in early 90s grunge videos and skateboarding videos.

i don't have any info about the lens as far as make or dimensions, i'll try to find out next time i'm at the office. i did try out the lens once in the equipment room and the fisheye effect is not as exaggerated as i would have expected but i guess there are varying degrees of fisheye-ness.

thanks in advance.

Well it can make some interesting shots, car shots especially. It depends on the angle of view. Some fisheyes are ridiculous and you can be an inch away from the persons face and see their whole head, and some are subtle but add a different look to what you are shooting. Useful in hard to reach places and rooms that are to small.

Hey Bro,

What zoom is your fish eye lens? Fish eye lens are sick for snowboarding and skateboarding! Kick ass for sports, drag racing, dirt bike jumps too. Really killer for skateboarding shots.

0.7 is the best fisheye in my opinion because it isnt to wide and it isnt to shallow
