Tips for Buying DVX

I am thinking of buying a DVX100a from a local buyer-the original owner. The camera has 225 hours on it and appears in great shape. What can I do to determine if there is anything wrong with it? What should I look for? Thanks!

See if the owner will let you shoot footage and check the footage.

Check all the manual controls when shooting test footage.

Ask if the heads were ever cleaned.

Do you mind if I ask what the person is asking for the dvx100A? Did you figure out what a fair price would be for either a used dvx100A or a dvx100b? I am looking at two different 100B cameras, both are almost new, very little use. Both sellers are asking what I consider too much money ($2250 and $2400). This includes a UV filter and batteries. I'm trying to figure out what would be a fair price. I have seen similar cameras sell for $1800. Thanks.
