First of all let me say thankyou for any replies. I am planning on shooting my first short soon. The majority of the movie will be shot outside, around the times of 5pm-8pm. (doesnt get dark till 8:30). I know the constand fading sun I will have to adjust the white balance alot, but this is the only time frames I will be able to shoot. in. I plan on shooting in 24p(of course). Any suggestions on any other settings. I wanna get as close to film like as possible with the DVX possibilities. Thankyou for all your help.

make sure you know what temperature you want your color palatte to be, (i.e. cool and blue, warm and redish). If you are aware of this before hand and adjust your scene file setting to suit then it will make your footage that much more enjoyable. Try to do everything in camera, the "i'll fix it in post" mentality is one that can lead to much frustration when trying to get the look you want. Also, in the conditions you describe you will be shooting in (low light) make sure your footage is exposed correctly.
