timeline for 30p

i need to add slo mo effect in some parts of a wedding video. what frame rate should i capture & edit in to achieve this effect smoothly?

i taped in 30p mode on dvx 100a. i am using premiere pro cs3.

You can't capture in any frame rather other than what you shot.

I take it all of your footage is 30p? Edit in an NTSC timeline. If you like, you can go into the General tab of the Preferences and change the field order to none/progressive. But you don't have to.

For slo-mo, slow the footage down to 50%.
