Timelapse Please Help

Hey, i'm in desperate need of a good explination on how to properly set up my DVX100b for a sunrise timelapse from the top of a building? Please don't tell me to use the search option, i did, but I wanted a perfectly straightforward step-by-step from some of the best filmmakers around. So can someone please help me out?
 
yeah, that's pretty much all you got on a dvx100b
sometimes I use the auto Iris. Sometimes I don't.
You might want to open up the shutter a bit to let in more light.
