Hello there. Has anyone shot any time lapse footage on their F5 at 4k using the S&Q motion option to emulate it. I imagine that doing this at 4k will give you a great options for cropping/ panning within the shot etc within a 1080 project. Thanks.

I have done quite a bit of time-lapse shooting with my F55 set for 1 fps S&Q Motion in XAVC 4K and RAW 4K. You are correct, it looks great.

Here are some clouds I shot in my backyard one day: http://vimeo.com/103176638
And there are other examples scattered through this video: http://vimeo.com/105295967

I shot some nice sunset and sunrise time-lapse shots in Arches National Park and Monument Valley this month, but since I am still on the road, I have not even had a chance to look at that footage yet.

Thanks for taking the time out to reply Doug and post some examples, greatly appreciated. Just out of interest, what shutter speed do you favour using when shooting time-lapse on your F55?

Anything between 1/60 to off. It doesn't really make much difference for a time-lapse. Although, with that said, I am hoping that V5 firmware will allow us to do 8-frame slow shutter at the same time as interval recording. Slow shutter does make a visible difference and that is a combination I would definately take advantage of if it becomes possible. I'm betting it will be enabled since all the XDCAM camcorders can already do interval and slow shutter simultaneously.

Hello all. Can you set the S&Q Motion in PAL land to 1 frame a second. I only seem to be able to do this if I set the camera to a NTSC setup? Thanks

Sorry the camera just let me do this - set it to 1 frame a second in SQ mode with the camera shootnig at 25 fps- but it wouldn't five minutes ago! So strange....
