been trolling around trying to find tips and hints for doing timelapse on a 100b.

the usual stuff....traffic on a highway at night, skyline from sunset to dark.

what gives the best results?

do you alter shutter settings for things like traffic to get those nice exposure trails from car lights?

I do my timelapse allways in post. If you don't need longer recordings than 1h, it's the best way because you are free "in the speed". For sunset to dark stuff I use a digital camera. It's easyer as a video camera and you are free to zoom, pan, tilt a little in the picture (if you need). Another point - you have HD if you need it.

If done it both in post and in camera. The cool thing about in post is you can do a ramp in/ramp out timelapse from normal speed. However if you are talking about a length longer than one hour, say sunrise to sunset and again, you will need to do it in camera. Car light trails is slow shutter speed.

You can't do timelapse on a 100B. Your only choice with a 100B would be to shoot realtime and simulate timelapse in post.

Just speed up the footage.

You could also use a still camera and import the image sequence into a movie.

the only issue I had with the post version on a 24fps timeline is the frames removed felt a bit random and sometimes the skyline in the shot seemed to jump a shade. On the 100a using the setting shooting in this mode yeilded what seemed a more seemless result to me.
