Hi all,

I will leave the link to a film myself and photographer Bob Mitchell have just finished making. It is a timelapse film with a narrative. Bob documented the slate industry in north Wales shooting on large format then we pasted the images in former industrial sites, some 50ft high in underground mines!

The short film shows both the art installations as well as time lapse of the slate production process with an overview of the industry in decline.

Please take a look, comment and share.

Thanks in advance
Jonny

Excellent and imaginative. Like the initial explosion at the start- unexpected and effective. The still images were work of arts in themselves. Is that mine showing the slate being cut still in operation?

cheers

Hi thanks for watching and replying.

Yes it is still in operation all be it in a smaller scale than back in its hay day. All the splitting and the exposion are at the same quarry, it is in Blaenau Ffestiniog. More stills can be seen at http://www.manmademountains.co.uk/

Cheers

Thank you all, glad you enjoyed. Hoping to get as many hits as possible before contacting producers so we can show their is an interest. So if you know of anyone who would be appreciate would be great if you could share it.

Just saw a tweet that your film made it on to timelapse.org! Very cool. I love that site. Some awesome stuff on it. Wish I could make a time lapse good enough to get on that site. Maybe one day!

Thanks, was pleased they picked it up. Only advice can be to keep on shooting. Also try to do it somewhere warm and not windy and it will be far more enjoyable (not Wales!)

Also just had a look on your site at timelapse and they are really nice, some great locations.

Thanks. Credit goes to the location though, not so much to me! Anyone can achieve a halfway good looking time lapse if they've got a great location. Perhaps I'll take some time (hehe) after NAB to shoot some 'lapse in the southwest. Maybe I can even get something worthy of becoming a featured time lapse up on timelapse.org - that would be kind of cool!
