timelapes help (car lights)

hey there i need to do a timelapes at night and i be filming in the city and i wanted to know is there a way i can get the car light make a line of light?i hope you can help me

To make a cars lights "streak" you need to run a slow shutter speed.

1/24 would do you good. If you want really streaky, go 1/12, or 1/6. You can do that in your scene settings.

In order to get a shutter speed below i think its like 1/24 or so, you will need to look in your manual to set up the "user" button to the the really slow shutter. Just look in your manual under slow shutter.
