TimeFest Downloading/Viewing issues: POST HERE

:banned: DOUBLE POST!!!

Sorry Jason, I was just kidding!

I should be able to have them all watched in a week or so anyway, so that sounds good. Thanks!

I have four of the zipped folders downloaded but they don't appear as zipped folders. They have a quicktime symbol and when I try to open them a 2048 error comes up informing me they are not movies.

yeehaanow - I downloaded the file from all the mirrors and it was fine ... try downloading again and see if that resolves your issue.

Weston - that's weird, but if the files are showing up as quicktime files somehow they got saved with the wrong extension (I'm guessing). Try renaming them to zip files and see if you can uncompress them then.

We don't have a set close time yet for the voting. We'll let you know when it gets close. The main thing is just watching the voting and making sure everyone has ample time to view and vote. Once it looks like most people that are going to have rated the films, then we'll probably put out a last call with a hard stop date on the voting.

Make sense?

Later,
Jason

Pauly, just said this in your thread but in case you missed it. You had less than 100 posts when viewing began which would disqualify you from voting. Larry may lift that since you have now met the requirement, but I am not sure.

All filmmakers who enter a movie in the Fest are eligible to vote regardless of post count. At least that's how it's been in the past I believe. Must just be a glitch in the new system.

You are right Mike. I had forgotten about that little quirk.

Also, to the person above me who is wondering about why they can't log in: look back a few pages and you will find that 5 million people already asked this question and it has been answer 10 million times. :D

Error message on top of screen when attempting to view R.P.D.M:

"Warning: filesize() [function.filesize]: stat failed for /home/fest_admin/dvxfest.com/host_mirror/time08/entries/R.P.D.M.-Mark_Harris.mov in /home/.malin/fest_admin/dvxfest.com/timefest/index.php on line 23"

Attempt to "save target as" results in an error message that I choose not to type unless requested.

ok, thanks for the head's up ... I'll check it out. In the meantime just try downloading again, as there are several other mirrors which should be fine.

It doesn't appear to have been a downloading issue as I was just able to left click and download it, the problem happens when I try to right click and "save target as" anyway, I'm rockin and rollin now, thx.

Not an issue, more of a request, if it wouldn't be too much trouble:

I think it would be cool to be able to sort films by individual rating. I know we aren't 'ranking' the films per say, but maybe we were harsher on the films we watched first or vice versa; being able to view a general ordering of the films as imposed by ourselves might be beneficial to see if we're being unfair to any particular films and change our votes accordingly. Just a thought.

I'm trying to download the zip files, but it constantly times out after downloading various amounts. There's so many films I don't want to sit here clicking on movie after movie to download them. I'd like to just get them all and watch them at my leisure. Any better way of getting these zips?
