To avoid dropouts, I've noticed the forum recommends setting TC to REGEN.
Can you still set your own timecode numbers in REGEN mode (01:00:00, 02:00:00 etc.) or does it always “zero out”?

Does the REC CHECK button cue the tape and assure no timecode breaks. Does it work both in REGEN and PRESET modes?

You start in Preset and set it to whatever hour you want. record 15-30 secs of bars or black then switch it to Regen and it will then pick up the new TC from where you left off.

So after setting timecode and rolling bars, doesn’t switching from Preset to Regen result in a timecode break? Do you have to do a record check or is it fine to just simply switch from Preset to Regen?

You'll probably want to use the "RecCheck" button. It may not be necessary unless you turn the cam off.

It should. That's sort of the purpose, to back up to the last frame shot. It will probably back up over the last couple or so frames but since you will be in regen mode it will pick up where ever it stops.

Thanks again Sirius! I'm used to using betacam and HD cameras where there's a "return" function that sounds identical to reccheck. Easy enough, thanks~
