timecode woes

so I rented a DVX100A yesterday and shot some beautiful 24P. I gotta say I love this camera, but one issue arose. When I took the tape out and captured, the timecode started at 05:00:42:00. Now I don't even know what that means, but from now on, I want the timecode to start from ZERO everytime I put in a new tape.....just like my FX1. How do I set that up? Can I fix the timecode on the tape I already recorded on or do I need to capture and print the footage to another blank tape?

The DVX must have been on PRESET instead of REGEN.

If you want timecode to start over from zero now that it's been shot, you'd probably have to dub to another tape.

thanks, but if I captured the footage, could I send it back to the same tape that had the messed up timecode, creating new timecode or do I HAVE to use a new tape?
