Timecode issues

Hi
My problem is that every time I either power down or change a battery, my timecode is thrown off after I power back on. This has proved to be a serious issue lately when shooting w/ other cameras. I don't see the internal battery warning mentioned in the manual, so don't think that's what it is.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I'm not sure about the battery change, but you can easily avoid the TC reset on power down if you set the timecode to regenerate.
Here is what you do: set your timecode as usually (set it to "preset", select the TC you want, press "menu", select "yes" ... you know, the usual). Record colorbars for as long as you want, then return to the menu and set the TC to "regenerate". Now you can power down the camera and it will regenerate the TC next time you power it up and press record.

This is really clumsy, shoulder mount camcorders can be set to regenerate right after you entered your preset TC and they will use the preset on the first time you press record and then automatically regenerate the next time (and they also keep the TC when you change the battery pack, which I'm not sure if the DVX does because I never tried)

Re: Timecode issues

Let me explain better. We are working with 3 DVX cameras. We sync up timecode (FREE RUN) on all 3 cams. Good to go. We then have to power down or change batts for various reasons. When we power back up, the other cams still retain matching and accurate timecode, while mine is off by several minutes. This seems to happen to only my camera. Again, the other cams are still accurate based on the sync we did. Any ideas why my DVX is thrown off after powering down or changing batt?
