timecode breaks

Client wants time of day timecode. But also complains of timecode breaks.
If I power the camera down, is it possible to get continous timecode with time of day timecode?
And I was under the impression that with rec run timecode you could power down and not get timecode breaks when powering back up...
Thanks for clarifications
PS, I don't have time to stripe tapes so that option is out of the question.

Time of day will break anytime you stop the camera since the timecode continues to run.
After powering off hit the Rec Check button when it's back on.
Make it a habit of checking timecode display and making sure it's not 0.

I always see timecode when powering back up either with rec run or time of day. That does not mean I have continous timecode? But hitting the rec check button will?
Thanks

Rec Check rewinds the tape a bit and gets the last timecode recorded so the next shot will start where the other timecode left off.
Time of day will never be continous unless you shoot the whole tape in real time.

Right, I knew that but is there some kind of blank frame that shows up if you are doing time of day and not hitting rec check after a power off/on. I'm trying to figure out what the client is talking about when they complain about timecode breaks with time of day recording.

You could easily get very small sections with no timecode if you had a power down and power up cycle. That's why there is a rec check and why you try to shoot a little before/after the main action. Note that they coudl log the sections (especially if you've kept a log of start and stop points) and set to capture a second later to start for each section.
Also note to power down before pulling off the battery.

Doing the rec check after powering back up will eliminate any gaps in the video and timecode that otherwise will probably be there even with time of day code?
Very run and gun so no logging in the field.
Thanks for your input
