Time warner Internet(Socal)

I'm in the West Hollywood area, and yes, my TW internet has been slow, slow, slow the last few days. Plus, it crapped out altogether a couple of times.

I think that TW is biased against the people who dont pay top dollar for their services. Everyone I know that isnt paying for the best, gets the worst cust. serv. and their TV/Phone/Internet always go out. For the few of my friends and I who do pay for their best internet, best TV, and only kind of phone (lol), we get the best service EVER. I've only had one outage with my internet and i called time warner, instantly got someone, and that weekend they came and fixed it fast. I get 25000kbps download and 2000kbps upload. And i'm located in the west san fernando valley.

I had RR for a while, until I could get DSL in my area. It was as bad as a dial up connection at 3 times the price. They were out many times, and eventually just blew me off by saying "It works, that is the best we'll guarantee".

Yes mine sucks and I'm in Ny....seems to have been that way since mid Jan. I'm really getting angry about it. I can't upload things properly or anything. It sucks bigtime.

Mine is doing this thing where about a third of all of the pages I try to load, it gives me quick time out error or a could not load error, then I immediately try it again and it works fine. Very frustrating.

I live in L.A. and I've been thinking about switching from DSL to Time Warner cable internet. Every couple of days, it seems that I get junk mail about either Road Runner or Earthlink through Time Warner. Is there any difference? I thought that cable was supposed to blow away DSL. If it doesn't, then I guess I won't switch.

I've been communicating with Faith, director of Deuce of Spades, and she's been having some troubles living out in L.A.

ok now my internet speed lost its power boost and is at normal speeds now. It went from 25000kbps back to 10000kbps... I want my powerboost back!!!!

I found out that WB's default DNS settings point to a very slow DNS server. Just find another free DNS server and your problems might be solved.

Roadrunner sucks! It has been MUCH slower than usual for the last month and it is driving me crazy. Every night at around 7:00 PM, it also just seems to stop working basically, no pages will load, e-mails time out. Then at about 10:00 or 11:00, it begins working again.

I wonder if the someone nearby gets home from work and starts uploading huge porn movies or something else that sucks a lot of bandwidth because it seems to consistently happen when all of the neighbors get home. I think with cable, you are at the mercy of how many people are on your hookup to the main head end at once and who is downloading/uploading what. With DSL, you don't deal with that I think but with cable modem, I think you do? Anyone know?

I just got email from Time Warner stating they have had a 'hacker' problem, why there's been false internet pauses and that Time Warner is investigating problem with authorities.

Geez.

And to top that off, today I got a call from credit card company stating that a 'merchant' on Amazon has a red flag and they asked if I tried to use my card today to buy something off Amazon, I said not today, so now they have to issue me an new card!!! and I have to fill out some fraud form of somekind.

Geez!

My credit card was also just pulled for fraud last week. The CC company called me and just said that, "your card has been compromised".

The world is going to hell in a handbasket. Sporadic internet and ripped off credit cards.
