Time to create 24p DVD - Best Way?

Hey all. We've picture locked our feature shot on the DVX-100 in 24p Advanced. The 'film' was cut in Avid and I need to figure out the best way to send to festivals and create a high rez DVD.

Also - what about blu-ray? Is there a way to uprez this stuff and stick it on a blu-ray disc?

I've heard/read that Canopus is a great encoder for SD and HD. Any comments from DVX specific projects? THANKS so much!
 
The DVX is not a high resolution camera. Just burn a regular DVD. It's the best it's going to look. If you want bluray quality, rent an EX3 or HPX500 or 170.
 
Thanks man....I've got TMPG as well. Are there any special settings you've found to work well?

Also, I noticed TMPG has an authoring application. Any reason you use DV-lab over this? I know Encore has advanced menus and such. THANKS again.

My TMPGenc settings are just designed to get the best quality. Make sure all your field and size settings are accurate, and I set all my other settings to max quality (Best motion search, 10 bit, etc.). It's slow, but well worth it. I didn't fully appreciate how good TMPGenc was until I used Encore (Main Concept encoder) to encode some stuff recently. It was terrible, with basically the equiv. settings I was using in TMPGenc.

I didn't have Encore until recently, so was using DVD-lab for it's low cost and advanced features. However, I have had a lot of issues lately with the DVD burning aspect of DVD-lab. The discs were spotty when playing on my PS3 (audio dropouts) and I got some of the same feedback from festivals I was submitting to. I took the same files and burned through Encore, and the discs have been working much better.
