There's a huge number of posts about doing time lapse. Select the Search link at the top of the forum and then enter "time lapse" as the search string. You should find many entries. You might also try "timelapse" since I have also seen it typed that way.
I think the best way to do it using 24p is to just let the camera run for the length of tape. If you want to use 60i then there are interval settings but they all seem choppy to me.
