I was checking out stop motion software yesterday and came across something that might interest people on this forum. There's lots of apps out there but several have a Time-Lapse function. The demo I'm playing around with is this http://animatorhd.com/
It captures from DSLR, DV, HDV, etc. For DV it uses the Firewire option. No tape necessary.
IDEA: Use a laptop and capture time-lapse with the DVX.
The quickest I could get my demo to capture was 1 frame every 4 seconds. You can set it to whatever you want. Even a Start and End time in terms of days, hours, minutes or seconds. Outputs in several formats.
Pros: Do Time Lapse with DVX with no tape transport involved.
Maybe this is old news but it's new to me.
