GH2 Time lapse with a GH2

I recently shot a time lapse film with a GH2 while in Hong Kong.

The setup was GH2 with 14-42mm kit lens, PClix time lapse controller, Gorillapod and a Lens Skirt. Had to change batteries halfway through and knocked the camera hence the transition in the middle of the film as the frame changes ; )

Thanks for the compliments. Ooops, didn't write down the settings I used. From memory the interval was 5 seconds, manual focus and aperture priority mode.

The PClix is great. I have the original version, its been updated with more features recently. It's very quick and simple to set up and works with lots of different cameras. I've not used a Pixel TC-252 but looking at the specs the PClix does a lot more and in a more straightforward way. Once you've told the PClix what camera it is controlling you simply set the two dials to the interval time you want, plug in the cable and switch on. If you want to adjust the interval as you are shooting just turn the dials and it will adjust on the fly. Very neat, robust and versatile.

Thanks Shenzo, it was a nice hotel :-) The thing that I was really pleased about was how well the GH2 coped with the changing light and maintained a good exposure. It probably helped that it was overcast.

There are a lot of great budget options around for intervalometers. I've used a similar thing to the one you mentioned with my Canon and it was pretty good. Bit fiddly to set up though. I shoot a lot of time lapse so the PClix is a worthwhile investment for me. As they say, YMMV ; )

Nice timelapse. Especially love it when the night falls..looks like you had a nice hotel :-) PClix looks a bit expensive though for my casual use.. Seems that this one works too for $17..: http://videoproducent.blogspot.com/...howComment=1310595726871#c1842810651138975275

@eggmedia

I ordered the lens skirt. PClix seems very nice but out of my budget. I ordered Pixel TC-252.

What was your camera setting? M mode? 16:9 ratio? Did you modify any setting while capturing?

Sure, you get what you pay for. Except with the GH2...we'll soon get way more than we paid for!! :grin:
