I just bought an inexpensive remote timer off eBay. For under $30 bucks, it works exactly as expected. Here is my first attempt at time lapse.

Cool. The second one was very odd though. Maybe leave it longer and speed it way up? Because the water looked really bouncy and I typically like smooth time lapses. But very cool still. Could be nice actually to use as a unsettling effect.

Speed - No timed panning device, but it is easy to pan a time lapse shot. You are shooting a huge image so you can pan within the image without loosing any resolution.

- The second one ended when it did because security pedaled up and said that I could not shoot there on a tripod. I could shoot. Just not on a tripod.

Benn - I bought the timer off eBay for $28.50 which included shipping from China. This is the one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370317094750 Paid on Wednesday and had it the following Wednesday.

Shoulda brought over two carboard boxes or something even more intrusive and put the camera on that. Then ask if there is a rule against that! Lol. Like a big wooden crate or something.
