GH4 Time Lapse... Vari, Speed in post, time lapse photo mode?

Seems like there are 4 (?) ways to do a time lapse with the GH4. Wondering what people are doing and if you have any tips / thoughts for any of the options below. I've read a few threads, but
am sure I've missed a few.

#1 using Vari frame rate at 2fps (1200% speed) or 12fps (200%)... wish they had a 4 or 6 fps setting?
PRO: small file size, makes a 1080 clip for you right away in camera, motion blur.
CON: only 1080, need TON of ND filters for so cal skies

#2 Shoot 4K (or 1080) and just speed it up in post.
PRO: great pan / scan / zoom in post if you shoot 4K
CON: large file size, eats up card space, no motion blur

#3 Shoot in stills mode with auto convert to movie
PRO: 4K pan & scan
CON: LONG convert to movie time at the end. buggy? seems like camera crashes in this mode about 1 in 30 times. anyone else have this?

#4 shoot stills with intervalometer
PRO: WAY bigger than 4K for Pan & Scan, more control
CON: filesize, stiching them all together,

Please add to PRO / CON. Any workflow ideas, tips, tricks? I'm using Premiere CC 2015. I have not updated to the newest version, which supposedly has better speed ramping tools?

I think speeding up video is entirely different than a time lapse, which is usually comprised of stills taken at intervals of time. #4 is really the way to go because it looks better and is easier than the other choices. In Premiere preferences/General, just set the "still image default duration" to 01 frames. Drag all the images into the project or on the timeline, done.
