I've read the manual, but maybe I missed this section. Is there a way to do a time lapse besides just recording for an hour and messing around in FCP. Like a setting in the menu or sumthin?
Yes you can do legit time lapse footage. The menu items you're looking for are described in the manual and in the book, they're for interval recording. You can specify how frequently to record (like every 15 seconds, every 30 seconds, etc.) and for how long to record (minimum = 1/2 second, etc). But you can't do interval recording when in 24p mode, you have to be in 30p or 60i mode before the options will work.
