GH4 Time-lapse feasibility on GH4 - 100% flicker free?

I'm looking into replacing or substituting my good old Canon 5DM2&3 timelapse workflow with the GH4. I currently have to use PC software on the 5DM2 to get flicker free time lapses. It is too cumbersome to setup with the laptop, USB cables, separate batteries for laptop and cam, etc.. . Simplifying the shooting process is my goal. In addition, I would like to use this cam as an audience POV on live events shoot. For non-timelapse rec, the 5DM2 is limited to 12 min and 29 min on the m3.I want to make the $1800 investment worthwhile (GH4, 14mm MTF lens, AC adaptor). The 5DM2 has too much shallow DOF and it won't match with other 2/3" EFP cams for live coverage. Not only that, I need a cam that can record non-stop for hours. I can't be keep pressing the record button every 12-29 min. The GH4 looks like a good candidate to get less DOF and more closer to smaller sensors cam and non-stop recording (max capacity of the SDHC media).

Does the GH4 use electronic shutter? IF yes, any flickering seen when using timelapse mode? How well does it perform when shooting sunrise and sunset?
