Time Code

I'm recording a promo for TV one and we are using and HD camera and a DVX one 100A...I know two different formats, but they use the DVX footage as some sort of behinds the scence b-roll. My Question is can the 100 a receive time code from the HD camera thru one of the audio channels. Can i record just time code thru the DV connector and still record video from the tape heads.

Almost *hate* to mention this but...

The old vlab video cards and toccata audio cards for the (gulp) Amiga could read timecode from an audio track and then sync the video in a timeline. This seems like an easy solution to syncing DVXs, if only there were software that could interpret timecode on an audio track (that is not hopelessly obsolete...)

Anybody know of anything like that?
