time code/tape glitches

with not more than 20 hours on my cam, i'm starting to get a reoccurring problem.

my timecode resets to zero after the red "no tape" symbol flashes on the viewfinder, in normal operation, with a tape, and between record and pause. sometimes it flashes back and forth, and the green "pause" leaves the screen.

anyone have a diagnosis?

I'm having similar issue with my camera. Tape reloads intermittently while in pause. It takes about 30-40 seconds, during which the "no tape" sign flashes for a moment, and there is no way to start recording while it's doing it. VERY FRUSTRATING. I brought my camera to the shop (Panasonic authorized repair shop in NJ) where they tried to convince me that this is normal. They took it however to further look at it. I'm currently waiting for them to call me back. Not holding my breath though, the problem is intermittent and altough happens often, can be easily brushed off by repairmen as marginaly acceptable. I don't think it is acceptable though. Anyway, will see what happens. I did try different tapes and tried cleaning the camera both with the cleaning tape and with alcohol swabs as described somewhere in this forum. Please let me know if you get to any conclusion with it.

So I have just experienced the same problem you have described. Have either of you gotten more information regarding this?
