Hi all,
Finally directed my first fiction short this weekend. Learned a lot and then some. Here is my technical question.
I am trying to dub my master DV tapes. For whatever reason, I havent figured out the right combination of camera setting to sync up the timecode from my master to my copies.
I am playing the master on my DVX-100 and dubbing them onto my DV deck (coincidentally a Panosonic mini-dv cam). I am a bit confused with all the TC settings on the dvx, any help would be appreciated. I cant afford to burn through all these new dv tapes experimenting.
So let me know what settings on the dvx to use. There has got to be someting better than having both camera on pause and hitting them simultaneously.
Yes, I have the two cams connected by 4pin firewire.
Extra credit........My DP forgot to stripe my tapes with color bars for the first 30 seconds (he came from film), so I would like to add those onto the front of my tape, but still have the TC on both sync up. If this scenario is impossible w/o messing up the TC sync, I will just add color bars at end.
