Hi.

I have serious problem with my 2 Panasonic cameras DVX100A or GS120. The GS120 can't read Time Code from casettes recorded od DVX100A (but recognized Time Code from e.g. Sony VX2000).

Please help. I can't digitize my footage on computer from GS120

regards

andrzej

Capture without the code and post it to the clip in your NLE.

or

Use the DVX to digitise from. ( I do not know what a GS120 is BTW but assume it uses miniDV tape)

Unfortunately the cameras read different lines on the tape for coding information, I tried numerous cameras none of which worked to my compete satisfaction.

...apparently none of the panasonics "GS__" line will work correctly with the DVX timecode. .. alot of people, myself included have gone with a now discontinued model the Panasonic PDV103. which is a nice little camera, but only has a 10x optical zoom. it is still available through circuit city and other retailers.. but actually costs a little more than the GS9. however it works great with the DVX.

If you want to use a deck for minidv for 100$ you can get the pvdv103 which reads the time code, you would have to find a used one on ebay. the dv103 is a lower end gs120. hope that helps.
