Time Code and HVX

May be a dumb question but do the P2 cards translate timecode? Since when you batch capture in FCP clips on dv it logs via timecode from the tape, does the camera stamp these timecodes into the P2? So if one were to just load hours and hours of footage on, say, a seagate external and then later go to edit the footage, would there be a time code stamp?

I'm certainly no expert because this P2 technonogy is new to us all but from everything I've seen and read the TC absolutely stays with the footage during any transfer - we'd kind of be lost without it.

Click on the link at the bottom of the web page I'm linking you to and go to page 6 and see the illustration on the right side of the page. The TC is clearly visible and should remain so no matter where it's transferred, one would think. Hope this helps . . .
