Time and Date capture

I have both FCP and FCE and neither will capture time and date in real time or at all from the 100b I have. I called tech support and this is what I am told. Someone suggested on another camcorder to use CATDV and in another forum someone suggested sorenson squeeze. Any ideas? Also, if it's the CATDV, do I need the live capture or just CAT or CAT pro?
