tim dashwood shoots & edits worlds fastest music video

What does tape have to do with it? The EX3 generates the same LTC timecode stream. Follow his steps and you "should" get the same results. Granted I've never tried it, but it looks very intriguing to me. The main point is that when you restart the music, the time code also restarts as well. With the EX3 I think it would be a good idea to also start with a new clip every time you stop/start the iPod that's generating the timecode and music.

I think the trick might be getting the right audio adaptors to convert the timecode audio signal so it can be recorded. If you have an editing system with an audio card you might just play the EX3 timecode out into the editing system and record it that way. Then put the timecode on one track, the music (mono) on another, add a timecode effect to the video track. I don't think it matters if the timecode matches the actual recorded timecode. It's just a number that you can look at and make sure it's counting or not. Mix the whole thing together (make sure the timecode is panned full left and the music panned full right) and you're all set.....I think. :)

I don't ever shoot music videos, but if I did, I would definitely give this work flow a try.
