Tiffen T1 IR filter available

The Tiffen solution to red contamination in the blacks on the Ex-1 is finally available. I just got my complimentary gift in the mail for helping them figure out the problem.
I got my 77mm filter with threads on both sides so it can be coupled inside a Letus type adapter. I haven't checked to see if that fits inside the EX-1 hood but I think a single filter usually does. The default sale could be for a slimline filter with only threads on one side so ask before you purchase.

If my camera ever comes back from repair I'll be able to test it. But the prototype worked so I'm sure this does.

Its light green so you will need to color balance through it.

I don't see it on the B&H site yet but I do at Able Cine- only $69

Is there any significant light loss? Inquiring minds would like to know if the hood can stay on! The one time I tried a polarizer filter it was too thick for the hood.

FYI Adam: I just bought this Polarizer filter and it fits just fine under the hood. It's slim and it works beautifully, though you really can't turn it without removing the hood.

I'm interested in the IR filter, and I'm glad it's not terribly expensive. Though having a green tint is a tad disturbing.

Yo Chad,

You got the hang of the polarizer? Any footage to show off?

Nothing too special. I just put up this first draft of a rental cottage. All the outside shots had the polarizer filter on it. One bummer is that you can't turn the filter with the hood on. Maybe a little with your finger in a lint free cloth, but I just turn it so the image looks the most color-saturated and put the hood back on. No clouds that day - just blue sky.

It was shot with the EX1 at 720/30p but there is some SD footage mixed in as this is a redo of an older version of this promo done by anothe company. I did get a chance to throw in some of my awesome Redwood Tree footage I shot in slow-mo out the back of my Scion Xa.
