Tick, Tick, Tick,

When shooting 24p and recording all the audio to Hard disk, besides using a slate/clapboard is there anything else I should watch for? I want to be able to sync the audio and video in FCP with no drift. And there any settings that MUST BE adhered to?

Because the internal clocks in the camera and the computer are not completely accurate, there's always going to be some drift. However, for most purposes (like a 3 minute scene), this isn't an issue. If you have a fairly long uninterrupted stretch of video (>15 minutes) you need to sync with, then you can always resize the audio while keeping the pitch constant. In Vegas, this is a trivial operation, but I'm not sure if FCP can do it as easily. If not, you may need to export the audio to an audio editing app and do the resizing there.
