Im thinking INGLORIOUS BASTARDS is going to be like NOTHING we have ever seen. I cant wait as I am a fan of the WAR genre as well.

Im digging PTA (although the Frog thing confuses me; he did do Magnolia correct?)

by defining piece i mean something of complete originality. he likes to "borrow" ideas here and there. inglorious bastards is a remake by a movie of the same name.yes, magnolia was pta.

Bought THX 1138 today. I'm looking forward to watching Lucas's original student film version of it, included in the special features.

MSummers - I know QT pays tribute in his films; he is the first to admit that. Dont we all though?

so I saw the entire DVD. its a pretty thorough DVD, which even includes a doc made back then, with francis coppola interviewing george lucas about how people will feel about shaving their hairs... i was like. um... but hey, it's all in good fun. I especially laughed when a woman kept giggling then finally crying after losing her hair. omg. I must add that the stry was unique and it's fun if you let yourself get into it. otherwise, it sounds like a bunch of rambling because the story seems so static. and his student film was laughable but for what he did during those times, it was awesome.

i have to say i never really thorougly saw the original but judging from the old footage in the making of, they did a good job restoring it. the new stuff is subtle, won't notice much. and there were these monkey-things at the end...  i dunno how that played out in the original...
 overall, I enjoyed the film and it was very visual and hypnotic like the box says. good for filmmakers to watch. not good for the common movie goer.

I consider my DVDs to be akin to an art or wine collection. THX-1138 is a pedigreed vintage, so of COURSE it belongs in the collection.

Not everyone looks at this way, though.

I bought it. The movie is pretty interesting...tho I did zone out in a few parts.

the two documenterys are really awesome tho. the first one was worth the price alone I thought.

Did anyone else think the CGI just wasn’t all that great? It really takes you out of the movie.

the cg doesnt fit very well. looks fake. its amazing that even after making 2, damn near full cg films he cant do it right yet.

i love the look of this film. i just picked it up and saw it for the first time last week. pretty amazing images. especialy for its time i think.
