Three Field Monitors from the HPX?!?

Is it possible to have two field monitors from the one signal ( HPX170 ) ? One would have an SDI connection, the other one a component connection. I guess could even push a 3rd connection via firewire to a laptop running Adobe On Location ( how fun will that be ? ) The idea is have one monitor display False Colors / Focus in Red, and another one the actual footage. The Laptop could have waveform or vectorscope running as well , all simultaneously.

Many HDMI / SDI monitors have pass-through connections, so you can plug each monitor into the OUT of the monitor ahead of it in the connection, with just one monitor plugged into the camera.

You can't output from both the SDI and the component at the same time on the HPX170. You have to choose one or the other. If you need multiple monitors, TheDingo's suggestion is the way to go.

I would check this, but i don't believe you can do component and sdi at the same time (Barry?), but as Dingo mentioned, some monitors have a pass through feature. Though on the 170, this would likely need to be sdi. To the op, a good way to utilize your options is to have all your info displays or the WFM on the cam flip out and use an external for framing and focus; works great.

Thanks guys. The Panasonic monitor has SDI IN and OUT so I guess I can SDI connect the Marshall through the SDI OUT.
Never done this, so I hope quality is not lost as the signal passes through the chain.

I have been using the flip out LCD screen for Vectorscope / waveform, but that blocks the whole LCD.
With the Marshall on false colors / focus in RED , I no longer can see what the actual footage looks like,
although the features are invaluable.
So if this dual setup works, is the simultaneous Firewire Output out of the question?

You will have very limited info available on your outboard monitors. Can't remember just what just now, but basically no shooting info will pass through except maybe TC and the red "I'm shooting dot".
