Three cameras, DVX, consumer, XL2-my daughters wedding.

umm, yeah okay.....great?

Dude make this thing special!!!!!!
It's your own daughters wedding and you have got to edit this, make it so emotional that you cry just turning on your computer! This is just a church service with flowers, dresses and tuxes.
What would Jesus do?
Well we know he doesn't use a MAC, so open up your PC, select some amazing Gospel music and make this a love production!

sheesh, I can't believe you. :)

Looks nice and the different camera angles helps. One thing is the audio needs some editing in that you can clean this up a lot very easy and quickly. Wether your using fcp or Premeire you can use pro tools or sound track pro with mac to sample the hiss and other nosies and remove them. To remove unwanted sounds in fcp or premeire you can always use a multiband equalizer and go in and cut off the top 3 or 4 bands which wont hurt the vocal or musical range of sound but will take out the hiss and make you sound track much more pleasing to the ear. You can keep cuting off the top end to remove as mush hiss as possible without hurting the quality by adjusting to what sounds good to you. Clean audio helps make good video great.

Michael T. I need to do more for sure. I had the audio pretty good but in the middle of the singing the sound level went skyhigh and it was overmodulatiing and came out very scratchy sounding. I worked it over with equalizers but it started sounding kinda flat. I kinda went the middle ground. I will give it another go round. Thanks for shareing your opinion. It is much appriciated.

Thatkidbret, thanks for the kind words. I'm trying to put something very special together for her. It was interesting to see the difference in the xl2 and the dvx. The xl2 really showed great detail but not great color.

Ahhhhhhhh!!!!
I watched about until the Bride comes out the door because it seems to be downloading kinda slow from my work connection.
What a difference you made with the opening!
I did that last year with the photo frames and pictures in them and also digitals in NLE. It was with a consumer camera and that was the point I wanted a pro-sumer camera.
Anyways great job with the beginning and adding music, such a difference.
What camera was where?
I am guessing DVX at the door and XL2 at the stage?
The video doesn't match from 1 camera to other and some CC, Magic Bullet, a mask or feathered blurred edges would be nice too.
Can't wait to see what your final looks like!

By the way hope I wasn't too mean but I am the father of 4 girls and 1 son. Also when you have great content like this and the whole website is full of people diggin for content then all you have to do is artistically weave it together.

The pictures in the foyer of the church were all done by my daughter. The groom singing to her really choked me up for sure. Here is a render with Magic Bullit , It is from the second clip. I like it better then the non MB clips. Tell me what you think.

It looks like MB is blowing out the whites and making details go away. Kinda like the whites are plugged into a 240 volt plug instead of 120 volt :)

Your guess was right on regarding the cameras. The third camera was a small sony. It looked pretty good under the lighting but lost color quickly in the dark areas. I could have dumped the color abit on the DVX but didn't want to try to match the lesser camera. The sony operater has since purchased a sony 2100 and we plan to try some more weddings. Wish he had a DVX. I love the color and 24p.

I'm really surprised at the difference between XL-2 and the DVX with its perfect colors. Maybe it was a settings thang with the Canon? I would think that it would be better for the price of it.
I'll watch again but where is the small sony sitting?

The small sony is looking from the left down in front of the church. The cannon was just purchased and the camera man wasn't used to it. He just put it on "easy". :-) Look at the bride's veil detail. The xl2 is unbelievably crisp in detail but color wise very flat. The DVX's color are better then real life but is very soft.

I had this very same reaction. Wow, the DVX is an amazing cam. Is there really THAT much of a difference? I kept thinking, ok, the XL2 HAD to have poor white balance setting or something. Were you shooting 24p with the DVX?

Anyway, nice shoot. This perfectly shows difference between 3-cam wedding vs 1 or even two. You cut quite well from one cam angle to next. But more editing needed for sure. First, no need to show the person opening the door just before wedding court began walking out. Also, not sure I would show each and every groomsman and bridesmaid from BOTH angles (back shot w/DVX AND front shot w/Canon). Just a thought. Will make more comments once I watch again.

What camera was on the tripod behind the seated people and up on a platform?

I'm thinking maybe the church has its cams already set for regular services. That was likely the one on the platform in back on tripod. Just setting there not being used. I might have popped a tape in and asked to use it.
