Thoughts on Speedbooster with FS700

I just bought a Nikon to Nex speedbooster from B&H and it was declicked. Go to the Metabones website; they talk about declicking.

I have the Rokinon Cine lens set (24, 35, 85), all full frame. I haven't done tests yet, but the lenses allow me to add 17mm and 60mm (also 24mm, but that's just a duplicate) when used with the speedbooster.

For people with the Canon 24-105 lens and speedbooster (and for that matter, the regular Metabones adapter), what characteristics get transmitted through on the FS700? IS, autofocus, auto iris?

I'd be interested to see some focus tests with yours. I have the cheap jinfinance ebay speed booster, and I feel like it has soft edges (haven't done any formal testing with it, I use it sparingly). I have a metabones Canon adapter (before I switched to Nikon) and I like the build quality.

How do you like the Nikon to NEX Speedbooster?

IS and iris work (no auto iris though).

The Metabones boosters do not affect the sharpness adversely nor does it have soft edges.

Does anyone else find that with the speedbooster and the Canon 24-105 L F4 lens doesn't retain consistent aperture throughout the zoom range? I'm pretty convinced that even though it shows it to be F2.8 (or whatever the exposure is locked at) on the LCD display at both the wide and zoom ends of the lens, that there is a discernible amount of brightness-loss when zoomed in - possibly a whole stop. The histogram seems to reflect that also. Is this just my imagination?

It does that even on my Canon 5D.

Asked my shop about it, and they said it was perfectly natural due to the zoom effect.

The 24-105 is also a very dark lens. I think the T value is somewhere above 5 on it.

I can see this as well but I suspect there's an "explanation" for this. :)

So far, I love it. Unlike the Canon version, it's totally mechanical, and it supports G lenses (I think. I don't have any).

The Nikon to NEX Speedbooster works fine with G lenses, I have a 24-70 2.8 that I use with it. Even though there's no iris ring, there's a pin near the rear element that controls the iris mechanically.

Re: Canon 24-105, I borrowed one and rented a EF to NEX Speedbooster, (interested in IS) and definitely noticed the light loss on the long end of the zoom. dxomark.com lists it at a 5.1Tstop.
